High quality content 'can boost website traffic'
Improving the quality of online content is an ideal way of driving traffic to a website, an expert has suggested.
Writing for the Google AdSense blog, Jack Herrick of wikiHow.com stated that having articles that are of high quality will encourage users to share them with their friends, something that may benefit firms wanting to boost their lead generation.
"Don't settle for acceptable content, always strive to produce amazing content that your readers can't resist sharing," he said.
Mr Herrick also urged companies running websites to allow collaboration on their portal, as encouraging working in groups can help to "create a passionate community of people that will build something bigger than any one person could accomplish on their own".
This, he added, will attract a larger audience and in turn will boost website traffic.
Finally, he argued that sharing content under a Creative Commons licence will result in more readers visiting your website, as the articles will be used elsewhere and effectively "provide free advertising".
Mr Herrick's advice follows that of Abbey Klaassen, who recently told Advertising Age that adding product reviews to an online portal is another way of improving lead generation, as they are effective marketing tools that can attract new customers.
