IT 'can help with lead generation'

IT can help businesses raise revenue during the recession, an industry expert has suggested.

Speaking to Silicon.com, Martin Atherton of Freeform Dynamics stated that expectations of IT are rising in the worsening economy, as businesses look to technology to help drive lead generation and revenue.

"For IT to step up and help the business drive revenue, it needs to help capture, deliver, share and frame information more effectively," he told the news source, advice that may be of use to firms looking to increase their client numbers during the current downturn.

Mr Atherton stated that IT can "take a lead" when it comes to marketing and optimising sales, adding that without revenue generation "no business stands a chance of survival" in the present financial conditions.

IT specialist Andrew Boyd recently told CRM Buyer that technology companies need to concentrate on boosting their efficiency in the recession, adding that companies should consider renegotiating contracts in order to secure the best possible price.
