Collecting correct data 'vital for lead generation'
Gathering correct data is a key aspect of a successful lead generation strategy, it has been observed.
According to Econsultancy, getting prospects to provide as much information about themselves when filling in forms is vital, something that can be achieved by dividing different areas of a survey or form into three categories - required, nice to have and unnecessary.
Required fields are those that are designed to create qualified leads, the news source noted, while information provided in the remaining two areas can be useful for identifying the most promising leads.
"The most valuable leads are qualified leads," the news source noted, adding that "acquiring qualified leads starts with collecting the right information".
Once the necessary information has been obtained, it is then important that the lead is followed up as quickly as possible, as their useful lifespan is, in most cases, "not much longer than a goldfish's memory".
Earlier this week, industry expert Justin Rees told Mortgage Solutions that it is "absolutely vital" firms have the necessary staff for lead generation, as the success of a campaign can depend on the "exact minute" prospects are contacted.
Businesses that do not have the required level of capacity should consider bringing in external assistance, he remarked.
